Skopje, 24 May 2024 (MIA) — VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski extended his best wishes on May 24, Ss. Cyril and Methodius Day, and said their legacy was inscribed in golden letters into the history and national memory of the entire Slavic world.

"Their dedication serves as an example that no goal can remain unreachable, if you put in a lot of effort and hard work," Mickoski said, adding that their translations into Old Slavonic and the creation of Glagolitic alphabet enlightened Slavic people "and saved them from the assimilation the trilingual heresy wanted to force on them."

"Our pride as Macedonians is even greater considering that they founded their work in the Old Slavonic language on the speech of the Macedonian Slavs from the vicinity of Thessaloniki.
