Mickoski meets Schwarz Group management to discuss investments and job creation in the country

Skopje, 13 February 2026 (MIA) – During the 62nd Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met Friday with the management of Germany’s Schwarz Group, the parent company of Lidl and Kaufland.

Prime Minister Mickoski shared on Facebook that they discussed the company’s investment plans, the creation of new jobs and the modernization of the retail sector in our country.

"We are opening doors for domestic companies to place their products in major European retail chains. We continue to engage in discussions and attract renowned global companies that believe in the potential of our country," Mickoski wrote on Facebook.

As of Friday, Prime Minister Mickoski began a visit to Germany to attend the 62nd Munich Security Conference, where he will reaffirm country’s commitment to a fair and predictable EU integration process, without additional bilateral conditions, the government press service reported.

Mickoski is joined by Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski and Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski.

As part of the conference, several bilateral meetings have been scheduled with European leaders as well as high-ranking representatives and heads of international security organizations. The talks will focus on regional geopolitical stability and the role of North Macedonia as a factor of stability in the Western Balkans and an active partner in NATO.

On the sidelines of the conference, the government delegation will also meet with EU representatives as well as with heads of state and government, the press release said.
