Probishtip, 14 October 2025 (MIA) – In these elections the citizens aren’t only choosing a mayor, they are also choosing the direction Macedonia will move in as a country, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski at a rally Tuesday in Probishtip.
“When I speak about our opponents, I am referring to an unprincipled coalition essentially made up of three political parties that have come together due to two main reasons: the first is their desire for power at any cost, and the second is the pathological hatred they have for VMRO-DPMNE. That’s the coalition of SDSM, DUI, and Levica. In some places, this coalition is formal, in some it is semiformal, but it is essentially an opposition bloc that is running in these elections without any program at all,” Mickoski said.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader said SDSM has not proposed any projects or a vision, instead focusing only on running a negative campaign from day one.
“From day one, up to today, we haven’t heard a single project, we haven’t heard a single vision nor strategy, we’ve only heard how and where they plan to lead Macedonia. From them, we’ve only heard three political messages in this campaign. The first is the negative campaign they’ve been running from the very beginning, of course primarily against me and against VMRO-DPMNE. The second political message they have sent is that they are the political heirs and a continuity of the Government that ruled Macedonia for seven years, the SDSM-DUI coalition. The third political message is that they would care and fight for our home,” Mickoski said.
Mickoski said unlike the opposition, VMRO-DPMNE hasn’t aired a single negative campaign ad, “despite the many reasons to remind the citizens of the failures of the previous Government, VMRO-DPMNE has chosen to lead a positive campaign focused on projects and the future”.

The rally was also addressed by VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for Probishtip Mayor, Toni Tonevski, who highlighted the need for changes in the municipality, noting that not a single capital project was realized in Probishtip in the past eight years.
