Mickoski: Gov’t stabilizing the economy, trade exchange on the rise

Skopje, 6 September 2025 (MIA) - The latest data is confirming what we have been striving for – we are stabilizing the economy, creating the conditions for an economy that is moving forward, the citizens have more jobs, while trade exchange is on the rise, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski wrote in a post Saturday on his official Facebook page.

“The unemployment rate has decreased to 11.5 percent, which is 1 percent lower compared to the same quarter last year. In comparison with the second quarter of 2024, today we have around 10,000 new employees and over 7,000 fewer unemployed individuals. That means thousands of families with greater security and a brighter future. There’s also good news in foreign trade: in July, exports increased by 4.69 percent, while imports rose by 4.35 percent. From January to July, exports grew by 5.41 percent and imports by 4.83 percent,” Mickoski wrote.

Mickoski pointed out that total trade exchange in the area of imports during the first seven months is 5.07 percent higher compared to the same period last year.

“These are real results from responsible policies. While the opposition spreads negativity and hopes for failure, we deliver results. While they block and stall, we build and bring a better standard for every family. Macedonia is moving forward – with more jobs, stronger exports, and a stable economy. This is a time for work, results, and development,” Mickoski wrote.
