Skopje, 11 October 2023 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski congratulated National Uprising Day, October 11, saying that "this is a bright date that makes Macedonia a winner, let's not forget today as well".

Mickoski underlined that it is important, as he states, "to respect and learn history, to learn from mistakes, to be united and cohesive, to listen to the voice of the people and to oppose those who sell out, negotiate and blackmail".

“It is important to know that October 11 is a continuation of the Ilinden struggle for freedom, a day which is the beginning of the struggle against fascism. It is important not to forget that this day is the beginning of the Macedonian people's struggle against the Bulgarian fascist occupier. This battle was the finale of the fight that will bring us an independent Macedonia. Let's not forget the fighters in this war who gave their lives for an independent and free Macedonia,” Mickoski said Wednesday in the message on the occasion of October 11 – National Uprising Day.
