Mickoski: Citizens to vote in masses, many things to solve in Skopje

Skopje, 13 October 2025 (MIA) - Citizens to vote in masses, so that we go into the City of Skopje and start solving things, said Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski after a meeting with the leadership of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia on Monday.

"Let's get into the City of Skopje first. The situation there is alarming and many things must be solved from a financial standpoint. Therefore, I urge citizens to vote in masses on October 19, to make Orce Gjorgjievski mayor, so that we overcome all challenges sooner," Mickoski told reporters.

According to him, the VMRO-DPMNE mayor candidates for the Skopje region had a fruitful discussion with the chamber, focusing on specific projects that must be tackled.

"Priority will be given to completion of the Momin Potok junction and the road leading to the Vizbegovo industrial zone. The junction's construction is still a long way from completion, and the GDP share of businesses operating in this zone is significant. In addition, we expect the saga around the Skopje-Blace motorway section to finish by the end of the month as we select the bidder," said Mickoski.

Chamber acting president Nuhi Aliu said they presented their problems and proposals, noting that a lot of their past remarks have been incorporated in VMRO-DPMNE's programme.

"Various proposals were tabled, to which the mayor candidates and the PM provided input. The chamber is very satisfied from the way in which this team perceives problems and their solution," said Aliu.

He added that an industrial zone with over 8,000 jobs and a 7.5-percent share in the country's GDP deserves a good road infrastructure, "something that the Skopje mayor candidate assured it would be given priority".
