MFAFT: Some Macedonian nationals to be evacuated from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrein on Wednesday

Skopje, 10 March 2026 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said Tuesday some of the Macedonian nationals stranded in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrein are expected to return to the country on Wednesday. 

In a post on its official Facebook page, the Ministry notified nationals about the time and location they need to get to before they are flown back to North Macedonia.

Macedonian nationals stranded in Saudi Arabia should be at the Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.  

“We inform all Macedonian citizens who need to return to the Republic of North Macedonia on the special flight organized by the Government in cooperation with FlyNas, departing from Riyadh – King Khaled International Airport, that they must be present at the airport on March 11, 2026, at 17:00 local time in Saudi Arabia, at Terminal 1. All passengers are kindly requested to arrive on time to ensure smooth completion of the procedures before the flight’s departure,” the Ministry said.

Macedonian nationals in Kuwait will travel by bus to the Riyadh airport on Tuesday night.

“We inform you that on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, that is, on March 10 at 00:00, organized bus transport provided by FlyNas will depart from Kuwait to Riyadh – King Khaled International Airport. From there, a special flight arranged by the Government of Macedonia will take you back to our country. A bus will take Macedonian nationals stranded in Bahrein to the Riyadh airport on Wednesday morning.

“We inform you that on Wednesday, March 11, at 06:00 in the morning, a FlyNas bus will depart from Bahrein (Manama) to Riyadh – King Khaled International Airport, where a special flight arranged by the Government of Macedonia will take you back to our country. At a press conference on Monday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski said a coordinated process for the evacuation of Macedonian nationals from several countries in the Middle East is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

On Sunday evening, a total of 151 passengers arrived at the Skopje International Airport from the United Arab Emirates with a flydubai flight. Most of them were Macedonian nationals, one from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, as well as two from Kosovo, and four from the Netherlands.
