MFA: Three citizens of North Macedonia evacuated from Greek wildfires

Skopje, 24 August 2023 (MIA) — No citizens of North Macedonia have died in the wildfires in Greece; three citizens have been evacuated, one of them after being treated for burns in a Alexandroupoli hospital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said citing latest official information.
The injured citizen is a truck driver whose trailer caught on fire while passing through an area near Alexandroupoli fire.
"Nearby was another Macedonian truck, which broke down," the MFA wrote. "The three of our citizens, who were in the two trucks, were evacuated on time and are on their way to North Macedonia."
The MFA said it was closely monitoring the situation and remained in communication with the Greek competent institutions through North Macedonia's Embassy in Athens and the Consulate General in Thessaloniki.
