MFA: Sufficient emergency travel documents available at diplomatic-consular missions, issuance is free of charge

Skopje, 13 February 2024 (MIA) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Tuesday afternoon that our diplomatic and consular missions have sufficient emergency travel documents available for citizens to return to the country, and that these will be issued without charging a consular fee.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that the delivery of travel documents is being facilitated, with the option for them to be delivered via express mail.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic-consular missions have not received any reports of citizens encountering problems while traveling with emergency travel documents or other documents issued by the Republic of North Macedonia, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
"We would like to inform that up to now, no citizen has reported to the Ministry or diplomatic-consular missions any issues regarding traveling with emergency travel documents or any other type of documents from the Republic of North Macedonia," the press release noted.
Citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia residing in a foreign country who have not obtained a new passport bearing the country's new name after the Feb. 12 deadline can travel with an emergency travel document.
