Mexhiti promises respect, equity and inclusion of people with disabilities

Skopje, 12 October 2025 (MIA) — Chair will become an example of inclusion, equity and respect for every citizen, the Worth It coalition's Chair Municipality mayoral candidate Izet Mexhiti told a press conference Sunday.
Mexhiti said every Chair resident had the right to have a job and participate in public life, which is why one of his election platform's key priorities was the care for and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
"In cooperation with organizations working in this field, we will build long-term policies for their access to education, health services, public transit and public spaces," Mexhiti said.
"We will create special programs for their employment and training in the public sector and in local institutions. We will support micro-businesses, social enterprises and joint initiatives, because economic independence is the foundation of human dignity," he added.
Mexhiti said this was an initiative he had started in his own cabinet. "I want to share with you the news that Qamuran Ismaili, an extraordinary man and professional, will be joining my cabinet as an advisor," he said.
"Qamuran will not be part of my cabinet merely as a token, but to have a real impact. His voice is the voice of a community that deserves to be heard. His experience is a bridge between the institutions and the citizens who often feel forgotten. Starting with my cabinet, we are turning this commitment into reality," Mexhiti said.
Inclusion is not a privilege but a human right, he said, adding that with him as mayor Chair would be a municipality "that does not divide but unites" and "listens to its residents and works together with them." mr/
