Skopje, 3 August 2023 (MIA) - Health Minister Fatmir Mexhiti held a video call with Ukrainian counterpart, Viktor Liashko, on Thursday.

"The Ukrainian Minister expressed gratitude to North Macedonia's Government and the Ministry of Health for the humanitarian support to Ukraine. Liashko noted that the contribution to health care, as well as the humanitarian help, which was donated to Ukraine by the Ministry of Health on several occasions is of great importance to the citizens of Ukraine," the Health Ministry said in a press release.

The humanitarian aid sent from North Macedonia contained medicine and medical supplies, medicament and antibiotics.

Minister Mexhiti said that North Macedonia is always willing to offer help and support in the protection of civilian population, be humane and offer solidarity in the most difficult times.

Interlocutors exchanged views on the cooperation between the countries within the international medical partnership program, implemented under the auspices of First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, with the aim of establishing an efficient partnership between health institutions of Ukraine and foreign countries.

The Ministers also exchanged views on the cooperation of health institutions between the two health ministries, which would include exchange of experience concerning current challenges in the area of healthcare. ssh/nn/
