Mask mandate in primary schools ends on Wednesday

Mask mandate in primary schools ends on Wednesday
Skopje, 29 March 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Government decided Tuesday to approve the recommendation of the Commission for Infectious Diseases to lift some of the COVID-19 restrictions for primary school pupils, said the Ministry of Education and Science. “Primary school pupils will be able to attend in-person classes without having to wear a protective facemask. The decision takes effect as of tomorrow, and will be in place until a possible new recommendation is given by the Commission for infectious Diseases,” adds the press release. However, those students who want to will be able to keep wearing a mask while at school. The Education Ministry urges for consistent adherence to all measures in place against the pandemic, as well as for responsible behavior not just at school, but also outside schools, in order to continue in-person instruction as an alternative that is in the pupils’ best interest.
