Skopje, 2 April 2025 (MIA) - The Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) said Wednesday that material damages have been reported after the swelling of Markova Reka (Marko's River) in Studenichani municipality but there is no immediate threat for the residents in the area.

"A rapid response team used pumps to extract water and they will continue to intervene during the day. Situation is under control and apart from the material damage, residents are at no risk," the PRD wrote in a Facebook post.

After day-long rainfalls, Markova Reka swelled in the Ljubosh area late on Tuesday, flooding several houses, warehouses and industrial facilities in the villages of Studenichani, Batinci and Pintija settlement in Kisela Voda municipality.

The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said early today that a portion of the Boris Trajkovski boulevard in Pintija and warehouses in the area were also flooded.

In addition, the 112 emergency number also received reports on flooded houses in Gorno Lisiche settlement in Aerodrom municipality.
