Marko Cepenkov Dren 2025 art colony begins

Prilep, 30 August 2025 (MIA) — The Marko Cepenkov Dren 2025 international art colony begins Saturday, welcoming artists from Serbia and Croatia in addition to local participants. The colony will run through Sept. 5.

 

Held for the 17th time, the colony will provide 17 artists with an ooportunity to work in the inspiring nature surrounding a monastery near the Prilep artificial lake, organizers said.

 

"The artists will create new works that will be part of Marko Cepenkov Cultural Center's rich art collection," Said Marjan Stojanovski, head of the center's arts department, which organizes the colony.

 

Jure Kokeza, Zvjezdana Jembrih, Zlata Tomljenović, Zvonko Pavličić, Snezana Manasić, Stefan Anchevski, Vasko Gorgjiev, Dejan Makarijoski, Verche Nikoloska, Aleksandar Dzhingo, Ferdi Bulut, Marjan Stojanoski, Zlatko Krsteski, Emil Dimoski, Slobodan Miloshevski, Riste Micevski and Bojana Toshevska are participating in this year's art colony. Their works will be exhibited at a group exhibition in November.

 

Marko Cepenkov's Cultural Center's collection of paintings and sculptures created at the colony so far includes over 430 works of art.

 

The colony is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. mr/
