Marichikj: Success is in unity and commitment to EU membership, not time for party excuses

Marichikj: Success is in unity and commitment to EU membership, not time for party excuses

Skopje, 9 August 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for European Affairs and Chief EU Negotiator Bojan Marichikj believes that the Manifesto released by the ruling coalition urging all political party leaders to commit to efficient membership talks with the EU, is yet another call and opportunity to unite as well as a way to prove that the political parties have the same mission and goal when it comes to the future of the country and the citizens.

According to Marichikj, this is a historic moment for North Macedonia's European integration, and he believes that processes gain success and value if valorized at the right time.

"Now is not the time for political whims and excuses. I am convinced that we will witness new swift progress towards the EU and success in achieving top strategic priorities and national interest," said Marichikj.

Marichikj adds that the Manifesto not only represents the political commitment to the EU, but is also a confirmation of the national commitment to building a better, united and bright future for North Macedonia.

The most important thing now, he notes, is for everyone to see eye to eye and to continue EU negotiations with commitment and unity, putting aside political differences to demonstrate a sincere intention for EU membership.

"Driven by a common vision that transcends party lines, individuals, MPs, all political parties should reaffirm the sincere intention for the EU and work tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of our people and to secure our place in the European Union," Marichikj pointed out.
