Marichikj - Radman: Only with dialogue and consensus on European future to sooner membership in EU

Skopje, 16 June 2023 (MIA) - The current political developments and the reform process in the country, as well as the integration of the countries of the region in the EU, were in the focus of Friday's meeting between Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj and Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman, on the sidelines of the 2023 Prespa Forum Dialogue in Struga.

"Croatia's example in terms of EU membership says that reforms can be made sooner and progress can be made, and this is our incentive in overcoming challenges and securing EU membership," Marichikj said at the meeting.

Marichikj thanked Grlić Radman for Zagreb's support and commitment to North Macedonia's progress on the European path, pointing out that Croatia as a great and sincere friend of the country in the process of EU accession, can positively contribute to the country's efforts on the EU integration path, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release.

Radman said that Croatia will continue to unconditionally support the country in achieving its strategic goal, noting that the government's policy is wise and led by a constructive will for cooperation and dialogue.

Talks also focused on the importance of meeting the deadline for constitutional amendments, with interlocutors agreeing that 2023 is crucial for North Macedonia and the creation of future EU borders.
