Marichikj - Geer: Common commitment to European integration brings success

Skopje, 15 January 2024 (MIA) - Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj held a meeting on Monday with European Union Ambassador David Geer, highlighting the key steps in North Macedonia's EU accession, as well as the main joint commitments on the path to the EU, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release. 

 

"Acknowledging Ambassador Geer's unwavering commitment, Deputy PM Marichikj expressed gratitude for the Ambassador's invaluable involvement and engagement in the country's European integration. Talks stressed the importance of cooperation, which not only strengthens bilateral ties, but encourages North Macedonia to successfully implement important processes, on the path to successful implementation of reforms, on the path to full-fledged EU membership by 2030," reads the press release.  

 

Deputy PM Marichikj pointed out that cooperation with Ambassador Geer is proof of the permanent partnership between North Macedonia and the EU, the commitment and common interest to be part of the European Union. 

 

Marichikj noted that North Macedonia remains committed, fosters common values, democratic principles and the key partnership with the European community, which plays the most important role in the development of the country according to European standards.

 

The support from the EU, Marichikj said, is of great importance for the country and is a signal for efficient and effective overcoming of challenges during the negotiating process, the press release adds.
