Skopje, 26 April 2024 (MIA) - We are prepared to get the best out of the Growth Plan for Western Balkans, which is set to bring an added dynamics in the Euro-integration process of aspirant-countries. We will submit the final version of the reform plan to the European Commission by the end of the month, and the first payment of funds is expected in September, said Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj on Friday.
"Today we are consulting with the civil society and will send the final version of the reform plan by the end of the month. Otherwise, if we wait for the new government we will be very late," Deputy PM told reporters.
He added that if everything goes according to plans, the advance payment of seven percent from the EUR 850 million earmarked for North Macedonia would be transferred in September.
Marichikj said the Growth Plan worth EUR 6 billion should accelerate the accession process by 2030 and requires reforms from countries and governments, resulting in systemic changes through those reforms and economic integration in the European single market.
