Marichikj congratulates election winners, pledges to help SDSM reform

Skopje, 9 May 2024 (MIA) – The new government won enough votes and secured enough support from the citizens to be able to settle all the issues and to continue pursuing the European reforms without straying from the road of European integration and regional cooperation, something that has been pledged by them, Deputy Prime Minister Bojan Marichikj said Thursday in a Facebook post congratulating the winners on the election victory and the citizens and the institutions on ensuring democratic and peaceful elections.

We as social democrats, he added, and as progressive and principled politicians are leaving the legacy of a country that is better than when we were elected, but that is not good enough for the citizens’ expectations.

Marichikj pledged that SDSM as an opposition will be continue to initiate and support everything the citizens need.

“I personally will invest all of my energy, dedication and knowledge in reforming SDSM, because the causes I’ve been championing all of my life are now threatened lying on a weakened base,” he noted.

Writing on Facebook, Marichikj said he will work for a better European Macedonia and for SDSM that keeps on improving.

“I thank all the colleagues in the government, the party, the civil society and the business sector for their cooperation in the past seven years,” he concluded.
