Marichikj – Baumgartner: French support for country's EU path continues

Skopje, 20 May 2024 (MIA) — First Deputy Caretaker Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met with French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner and the new French expert on EU Integration Mia Matkovic, who has joined the SEP team, according to a press release.
"European integration is the basis for our country's stable socioeconomic development," the release said.
"Processes initiated as part of the negotiations with the EU should continue in order to fulfill the strategic goal of full membership and implement the European Commission's Growth Plan bringing great benefits for all citizens of the country, the region and Europe."
Meeting participants reaffirmed the French support for North Macedonia on its path to the EU, reiterating France's commitment to the EU integration of the Western Balkans.
The aim of the meeting was to introduce the new French expert on EU integration who joined the SEP team in April, the release said. mr/
