Macedonian musicians give October 23 concert at Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia

Skopje, 24 October 2025 (MIA) – Macedonian musicians Petar Taneski (clarinet) and Darko Bageski (guitar) gave a concert yesterday at the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia on the occasion of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle Day – October 23.

Petar Taneski and Darko Bageski’s repertoire “transferred Hendel and Mozart’s classical sophistication, kindled Piazzolla’s Argentinian passion, revived Nikola Badev and Radojka Zhivkovikj’s Balkan soul gently intertwining Macedonian melodies,” the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia said.

Its director Zoran Pejkovski said this year marked a milestone – 20 years since the establishment of the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia.

According to him, two decades were dedicated to cultural exchange, artistic cooperation, the creation of bridges of friendship and the mission to affirm and nourish Macedonian culture, language and spirituality before Bulgarian and international audiences.

“These past 20 years is a proof that culture is the strongest ambassador of Macedonia. Our song, word and art speak the language of the heart – a language everyone understands,” he said.

“Tonight, a concert wasn’t only performed in Skopje, but it was also a holiday of the Macedonian soul that lives, plays, creates and breathes in every note, in every verse and every touch with art… This concert wasn’t only an art event, it was also a message that the Macedonian spirit is alive, that our culture has a lot to say and that our country has intertwined abundant talent, huge soul and a warm heart,” said a press release of the organizers.
