Skopje, 3 June 2023 (MIA) - The Macedonian language will be taught at undergraduate studies at the University of Wroclaw in Poland from the next academic year, this was announced after the end of the 11th Macedonian-Polish conference in Katowice and after a ceremony marking of the anniversary of the Macedonian Language Lectureship in Sosnovjec.

According to the director of the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (MSMJLK at UKIM), Vesna Mojsova-Chepishevska, the Macedonian language will be taught at undergraduate studies at the University of Wroclaw in Poland from the next academic year, after the marking of the 35th anniversary of the Macedonian Language Lectureship at the Faculty of Humanities in Sosnovjec at the University of Silesia in Katowice.

"The determination to make the Macedonian language resonate even more strongly in the world is not just a wish, but a daily reality", pointed out Mojsova-Chepishevska.

The lectures in Wroclaw will be conducted by Maria Stryszewska, who is a seminarian of the International Seminar for Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.

The news about the commencement of academic teaching in the Macedonian language at the University of Wroclaw was announced by Ambassador Ilija Psaltirov.

According to the director of MSMJLK at UKIM, it is significant that the diplomatic commitments for the status of Macedonian studies at foreign universities and in support of the commitments for the development of foreign Macedonian studies are already visible.

“Within the framework of celebrating the jubilee of the Macedonian Language Lectureship in Sosnovjec, with our colleagues from Poland we continued to discuss specific proposals for improving the teaching of Macedonian language, literature and culture at the University of Silesia. I believe that everything that we talked about and shared as a proposal will come true, just as everything that we planned within the framework of celebrating the anniversary came true,” Mojsova-Chepishevska said.
