Macedonian film screenings to mark 75 years of Film Workers Association

Skopje, 3 September 2025 (MIA) -- "The Third Half" (2012) by Macedonian filmmaker Darko Mitrevski will be shown Wednesday evening at the Cinematheque as the first in a series of retrospective screenings of Macedonian films in September, organized to mark the Film Workers Association's 75th anniversary.
Mile Grozdanovski's short "Something Should Happen Today (1978) and Jani Bojadzhi's feature "Mocking of Chirst" (2018) will be screened Thursday. Marija Apchevska Petrovska's short "North Pole" (2021) and Igor Ivanov Izi's feature "The Piano Room" (2013) will be screened Friday, followed by a Saturday screening of Milcho Manchevski's "Dust" (2001).
Goran Stolevski's "Would You Look At Her" (2017) and his "Housekeeping for Beginners" (2023) will be shown on Sept. 10. Meto Petrovski's documentary "Virovo" (1968) and Dina Duma's "Sisterhood" (2021) will be shown on Sept. 12.
According to Film Workers Association president Igor Ivanov Izi, the retrospective series is a tribute to "all generations of visionaries, auteurs, actors, film workers and contributors who have built and are still building Macedonian cinematography." mr/
