The Hague, 25 June 2025 (MIA) – The NATO Summit in the Hague is resuming Wednesday with a Macedonian delegation, led by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, also in attendance.

President Siljanovska – Davkova last night attended a dinner, hosted and organized by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands for the summit’s participants, including US President Donald Trump.
The President and the members of the Macedonian delegation are expected to hold meetings with officials of several NATO member countries at the sidelines of the event.

The two-day NATO Summit in the Hague focuses on NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte’s proposal on raising the percentage of finances singled out from the national GDP by the NATO member countries.
'Ahead of the forum, the NATO chief said the main focus of the event will be on making sure the Alliance has what it needs to defend and deter from any kind of threat.
Rutte has stressed this year’s summit is taking place “at a truly historic moment” amid growing security challenges, saying that as the world is becoming more dangerous, the ally leaders should make bold decisions to strengthen collective defence making the Alliance stronger, fairer and more combatable.
According to Rutte, these commitments include a new defence investment plan envisaging a 5-percent of GDP defence spending target and ways to enhance the defence industry across the Alliance so as to increase not only security but also to allow job creation.
As part of the summit’s working part, the North Atlantic Council will hold a session today that will include heads of state and government. It will be chaired by Rutte and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof.
