Kraków, 2 July 2023 (MIA) – The Macedonian athletes at the 2023 European Games in Poland concluded their participation with Angel Petrushev's participation in the kayak cross event on Saturday, and are set to return to the country with one silver medal won by taekwondo practitioner Dejan Georgievski.

Georgievski lost in the final of the taekwondo men's +87 kg competition to British athlete Caden Cunningham.

The last Macedonian athlete to compete at the European Games, Petrushev, finished 28th out of 52 athletes in the kayak cross event.

The 2023 European Games kicked off on June 22 in Kraków and 12 other Polish cities and are set to end on Sunday, July 2. Seventeen Macedonian athletes took part across seven disciplines.

This year's European Games were the largest ever with around 7.000 athletes from 48 nations.
