Macedonian art exhibit on how Covid pandemic has changed people's lives to open in Tirana

Skopje, 23 December 2024 (MIA) — An exhibit of works by Macedonian artists Ana Ivanovska, Hristina Zafirovska and Maja Kirovska exploring how the Covid pandemic has changed people's lives will open Monday evening at the Cultural Information Center of North Macedonia in Tirana, Albania, and run through Dec. 27.

According to organizers in a press release, the art show is titled "Regeneration" and it aims to highlight how people have changed amid the pandemic.

The three artists primarily focus on their own transformation, renewal, and emotions stirred by the pandemic.

Their paintings also "question the relationship between the visible world and invisible dangers," organizers said.

Hristina Zafirovska's Covid-themed works have previously been shown in Kichevo and Sofia.

Juxtaposed with Ana Ivanovska's works that are her "visual representation of fear" as well as hopelessness and limited freedom is Maja Kirovska's art depicting "airy human figures made of light natural material – skeletons of tree leaves."

The latter artworks "represent the circulatory system of the tree leaf, or the system that supplies them with water and keeps them alive," organizers said. mr/
