Sofia, 10 October 2022 (MIA) – New Ambassador of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, Agnesa Rusi-Popovska, handed over the credentials to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on Monday, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports. Rusi-Popovska is the country's first woman ambassador in Sofia, since January 12, 1992 - 30 years ago, when Bulgaria recognized the independence of the Republic of Macedonia at the time, and diplomatic relations were established.   The ambassadorial post in Bulgaria has been vacant since 2020, when the mandate of the former ambassador Marjan Gjorchev ended and he returned to Skopje.   During Monday’s ceremony, Radev also received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of Austria, the Vatican, Kuwait, Libya, Lithuania and Slovenia to Sofia.
