Skopje, 27 March 2023 (MIA) - Everyone favors the vetting process but it is still too early to say which model will be accepted, said Justice Minister Krenar Lloga on Monday.
Minister Lloga told reporters he has not found a single document in the institution related to the vetting, noting that the process must happen, albeit with the support of the international community.
"No vetting will begin if such support is not available," added Lloga.
On comparisons with Albania, he said the situation in North Macedonia is far better, since three-quarters of judges in Albania had resigned themselves.
"There is a report addressed to Venice Commission that provides a comparative analysis, in which Serbia, Croatia and Ukraine are identified as bad examples," said Lloga.
The Minister said that the period up to next year's parliamentary elections would be used to overcome the problem of lack of staff in the sector, as well as to adopt the 2023-2027 Strategy with a focus on the vetting process, the law on just representation, the Electoral Code and the Office for Asset Recovery.
