Skopje, 6 October 2025 (MIA) - Candidates running for mayors and municipal councillors in the October 19 local elections resume campaigning on Tuesday, with rallies centred on addresses by the leaders of the largest parties.  

The ruling VMRO-DPMNE will hold meetings with voters and rallies to present its candidates in Mavrovo, Rostushe, Gostivar and Tetovo.  

The opposition SDSM will promote its candidates in Dojran, Bogdanci, Gevgelija and Valandovo. 

Levica leader Dimitar Apasiev, MP Sashko Janchev, list principal Nikola Lambev and the party's candidates for municipal councillors will hold meetings with citizens in Negotino. 

VMRO-DPMNE candidate for Skopje mayor, Orce Gjorgjievski, is set to hold a press conference in Butel Municipality, while GROM - The Citizen Option for Macedonia is set to hold a press briefing to present the program of its candidate for Skopje mayor Aleksandar Trajanovski. 

SDSM's Skopje and Gazi Baba mayor candidates, Kaja Shukova and Vlatko Mitovski respectively, will give media statements. 

Levica’s candidate for Skopje mayor, Amar Mecinovic, will hold a press conference to present a solution for Skopje's public transport. Press conferences are also scheduled by DUI Vice-President Arber Ademi, Kumanovo mayoral candidate Selver Ajdini, and Butel Municipality mayoral candidate Isamedin Azizi. 

DUI-led National Alliance for Integration's (NAI) candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Chair, Bujar Osmani, is also set to hold a press conference.
