Skopje, 21 November 2024 (MIA) - For as long as I lead the Government I will be exclusively led by the interests of my homeland, Macedonia, and the Macedonian national interests, and I will support anyone that fits within this context, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in answer to a question posed in Parliament on Thursday by Levica MP Recep Ismail regarding the Prime Minister’s support of Radmila Shekerinska’s appointment as NATO Deputy Secretary General.

“I clarified yesterday that we have completely opposite views on many issues with Radmila Shekerinska, we have strategic and ideological differences, and no one should have any doubts about this. But when it comes to the Macedonian national interest, I am ready to support anyone. In the choice between Radmila Shekerinska and four other candidates, it is logical for me as the Prime Minister of the Government of all of Macedonia, not only the left, right, center, or Macedonians, Albanians, Turks... to make a decision with which we will demonstrate what we were talking about when we were calling for national unity for example. And on some future similar occasion, regardless of whether they are coming from the left or right, every Macedonian citizen who proudly represents their homeland Macedonia, will have my support for any international institution. For as long as I lead the Government I will be exclusively led by the interests of my homeland, Macedonia, and the Macedonian national interests,” Mickoski said.
