Skopje, 12 June 2025 (MIA) - Campaign "Zero Tolerance Corruption - Let's Make it True", aimed at raising the citizens' awareness over the importance of reporting corruption and encouraging them to take active steps in the fight against this negative phenomenon, launched on Thursday.
Public Security Bureau director Aleksandar Janev told the campaign launch event that institutions are providing strong support by utilizing their capacities and working on corruption reporting systems.
"Our task is to develop trust among citizens, encourage them to be part of the solution and ensure safe and effective reporting of cases that involve corruption. I believe we will enjoy efficient coordination and swift response so they are effectively processed and sanctioned. Our support for the campaign is unconditional and clearly aimed at increasing the transparency and accountability of institutions, creating an environment in which citizens will feel safe and motivated to report irregularities," said Janev.
Anti-corruption and money laundering expert Mojca Kuzmicki said the campaign's main focus is awareness raising and building trust, so that people identify corruption, understand its damaging impact and feel encouraged to take action.
"Today, we are not promoting yet another campaign, we are introducing a vital initiative that is focused on prevention through awareness raising, education and active involvement of citizens in the fight against corruption, which is not a task for one institution. This is a shared responsibility for the society as a whole. Only through cooperation among citizens, law enforcement and civil society we can build a more transparent, just and credible state. Today's event opens a new chapter in which every individual is part of the solution," said Kuzmicki.
The campaign is part of EU-funded project "EU Support for Rule of Law", implemented by the Ministry of Interior. It will be promoted on social media, media platforms, and supported by well-known personalities to boost its reach.
