Skopje, 16 August 2024 (MIA) — To become self-sustainable, Skopje's JSP public transport company needs help from the institutions in renewing its bus fleet, director Dragi Kushovski said in an interview for MIA.
Kushovski said that although JSP had debts, it also had money due from institutions and private companies. If these payments were made regularly, they would make it easier for the public transport company to operate.
"We need to start being paid regularly so that we can do our jobs," Kushovski said, adding that JSP would be able to pay out its debts if it collected the money owed from its customers.
He said the company also needed to increase its revenue. "And we are working to increase it," he said.
In the interview, he urged passengers to buy tickets when using public transport.
"I call on the citizens to be aware that they need to pay for their bus tickets," Kushovski said, adding that those who had bought or received free bus tickets needed to make sure they validated them as well. mr/
