Kumanovo marks National Uprising Day

Kumanovo, 11 October 2025 (MIA) — Kumanovo marked National Uprising Day with a flower-laying ceremony at the Kumanovo Memorial Ossuary, with Kumanovo Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski and top state representatives in attendance, MIA's Kumanovo correspondent reports.


Numerous delegations including representatives of the presidential office, the government and parliament, the army, state institutions, foreign embassies, political parties and citizens' associations laid flowers at the memorial.

 

 

In his remarks at the ceremony, Mayor Dimitrievski paid tribute to the fighters in the National Liberation War and called on all ethnic communities to unite in a just society, to preserve the rich history of the state and Kumanovo as a heroic and revolutionary city.


He said the city remained a role model for a harmonious coexistence of numerous ethnic communities as part of a multiethnic society.

 

 

"October 11 should be our incentive to overcome all obstacles and divisions through respect for others, cooperation and friendship, which will bring progress to all so we can live freely in our own country," Dimitrievski said.

 

 

"Macedonian identity, history, language and culture are our greatest wealth," he said, adding that the country should continue to advocate for the achievement of European values ​​through cohesion and building bridges of friendship. mr/
