Kovachevski: Our diaspora contributes to country's affirmation in various fields

Bled, 27 August 2023 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, who is in Slovenia to participate in the Bled Strategic Forum on Aug. 28–29, met Sunday with Macedonian diaspora community representatives in Koper.
According to an official press release, meeting participants highlighted the state's commitment to fostering ties with expatriates in Slovenia and nurturing together Macedonian tradition and culture abroad.
They also exchanged opinions on the importance of establishing good business practices and development projects between the two countries, the release says.
"Our diaspora community in Slovenia, through its numerous achievements in various fields, has made great contributions to the Republic of North Macedonia's affirmation in the Republic of Slovenia," Kovachevski said.
He and the diaspora community representatives discussed current issues affecting them. They also welcomed the newly introduced, government-subsidized low-budget flights between Skopje and Ljubljana, which are expected "to contribute to better connectivity and faster economic development," according to the release.
At the meeting, PM Kovachevski highlighted the importance of the country's European integration, voicing his expectation that the diaspora community would continue to provide support for the process. mr/
