Kovachevski: Legal authorities are independent, only they can comment on proceedings
Skopje, 24 August 2022 (MIA) — In a Sitel TV appearance Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said that being part of the executive branch, he must not and did not want to interfere in the work of the judiciary or comment on the suspension of public prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska. PM Kovachevski said the prosecution and the judiciary were “the only ones who will be able to provide additional information” regarding Ruskovska's claim that members of the former government were involved in her dismissal. If an investigation was due, he said, the prosecutor's office should launch a probe into the claim. “I believe that the Government should not interfere in the work of either the prosecutor's office or the judiciary. They have their own system of working,” the prime minister said. mr/
