Kovachevski: Enough time to create VAT list of luxury goods that will not affect citizens

Skopje, 23 January 2023 (MIA) – Finance Ministry intends to create VAT list of luxury goods that will in no way affect the basic products used by citizens, and there is enough time for that, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said on Monday.

“Finance Ministry together with the Customs Administration, the Chambers and the Public Revenue Office, is working to define the VAT list for luxury goods. I believe that we will easily define a list that will not affect the citizens in terms of the final price of the products. As soon as the list is defined, it will be submitted to the institutions that should implement it,” PM Kovachevski told reporters during his visit to Metro company.

He said that the passing of the laws depends on the sessions scheduled by the Parliament and on the discussion that takes place in the Finance and Budget Committee and in the plenary session.

“As soon as we have detailed information from the coordination in the Parliament regarding the scheduled sessions, we will be able to know when law will be passed,” Kovachevski added.
