Kovachevski: Electricity subsidies next year as well
Skopje, 6 September 2022 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Tuesday that electricity subsidies will also be awarded next year in order to avoid price shocks.
Kovachevski said that an uninterrupted power supply must be secured at sustainable prices.
"There are already many businesses in the industrial sector in Europe that don't work. We want to avoid that happening in our country despite the exceptionally tough times that lie ahead," Kovachevski said in response to a reporter's question following the Security Council session.
The PM reiterated that there won't be any new electricity power increases until early next year, but judging by entry parameters, "it's clear to everyone that prices will increase next year".
"The state will once again subsidize electricity next year and it will not allow a price shock," he emphasized. dk/ba/
