Kovachevski: Budget revision aims to restore economy to pre-pandemic levels
Skopje, 24 July 2022 (MIA)— Adopting the 2022 budget revision has provided greater economic stability and financial support for citizens and companies during an extremely difficult year, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said in a Facebook post. “In a year full of economic, energy and health challenges, we continue truly taking care of all citizens and focusing on the thorough development of the state,” Kovachevski wrote. The prime minister said the budget revision provided 76 million euros for new anti-crisis measures and 32 million euros for increasing domestic food production. It also made it possible to increase salaries in education and childcare; to raise pensions for over 320,000 retired citizens from September; and to fund subsidies for farmers and development projects. “The revision, which was welcomed by the World Bank and presented to the public and the business community, besides maintaining macroeconomic stability also aims at helping restore the economy to its pre-pandemic levels,” Kovachevski said. mr/
