Kovachevski announces next Open Balkans summit in Ohrid in June
Skopje, 26 April 2022 (MIA) — The next Open Balkans leadership summit will be held in Ohrid in the first half of June, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski announced after his online meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. In a Facebook post, PM Kovachevski said important agreements and memoranda for cooperation in culture, tourism and economy would be signed during the Ohrid summit. This is why, he said, Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi and Agriculture Minister Ljupcho Nikolovski also took part in the online meeting with President Vucic and PM Rama. Kovachevski also said that as part of the Open Balkans initiative a tourist fair of wine and food would be held in Serbia in early September. “I am convinced that Macedonian wine and food producers will have something to show the region,” he added. He pointed out that the Open Balkans initiative remained open for Montenegro, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Together we are Europe,” Kovachevski wrote. mr/
