Skopje, 19 February 2023 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met Sunday with American philantropists George and Alexander Soros.

According to an official press release, they said that North Macedonia’s government promoted and practiced the values of democracy, the protection of human rights, the rule of law and an open society, sharing the values of the Open Society Foundations founded by Soros.

Meeting participants said the openness of the state for developing democracy and the rule of law were key for economic progress and new investments.

Kovachevski said the government will continue to support the free-thinking citizenry, the release adds. mr/
