Skopje, 17 October 2023 (MIA) – Partnership Framework between the World Bank and North Macedonia is a strong message to international partners and investors, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and World Bank Vice President for the Europe and Central Asia Region, Antonella Bassani during their meeting in Tirana.
In addition to PM Kovachevski, the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit in Tirana, was also attended by Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj, the government said in a press release on Tuesday.
“They discussed the current projects and medium-term plans of North Macedonia, as well as the countries of the region. They also shared views on political and economic developments in the region, as well as geopolitical challenges in Europe and the world and how all this affects the global economy,” reads the press release.
The talks also were focused on the growth projections of the countries of the region during this year, as well as the projections on global economy and financial stability.
“The partnership with the World Bank and the support to North Macedonia is of great importance. Partnership framework aims at ensuring better living conditions, as well as for investments in improving the competitiveness of the private sector, investments in infrastructure, development of human potential and strengthening of public finance management,” the press release reads.
With the preparation of the new Partnership Framework between the World Bank and the Republic of North Macedonia, the financial support for the country will increase significantly and will be almost twice as much as before.
They also underscored that this kind of cooperation reaffirms the support that comes from a serious partner, thus sending a strong message to international partners and investors.
Kovachevski and Bassani voiced satisfaction with the strong long-term partnership, as well as the development results achieved during the years of cooperation.
