Kosovo reports first suspected monkeypox case
Prishtina, 4 June 2022 (MIA) — Kosovo’s health authorities have sent samples taken from a person with suspected monkeypox to the World Health Organization laboratory in the Netherlands, MIA’s Prishtina correspondent reports. According to an official press release from Kosovo’s Ministry of Health, on June 3, the Infectious Diseases Clinic at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo received a report of a suspected monkeypox case. “The patient is a man, born in Dragash in 1953, and he is in stable health. The samples were sent to the WHO reference laboratory in the Netherlands. The patient has been hospitalized and currently in isolation at the Infectious Diseases Clinic,” the press release said. mr/
