Pristina, 29 November 2023 (MIA) - The Special Prosecutor's Office (SPO) of Kosovo announced on Wednesday the arrest of six people, three of whom are citizens of North Macedonia and three from Kosovo, suspected of counterfeiting money, MIA reports from Pristina.

According to the SPO, the suspects were part of a group that distributed and imported counterfeit money on the market, "suspected to have been produced in a country neighboring Kosovo."

More than EUR 85,000 in two-euro coins, suspected to be counterfeit, were seized in an operation carried out by the SPO and the Kosovo police.

"Bags with two-euro coins each worth EUR 85,010, suspected to be counterfeit, including four cars used by the arrested and seven mobile phones were seized in the operation," the SPO said. ssh/ik/
