Kashikovski: Parks and Greenery staff to keep protesting over September paychecks
- SUTKOZ Hospitality, Tourism, Housing and Utility, Crafts and Protective Associations Workers Union leader Stojanche Kashikovski and Parks and Greenery public enterprise's Florakom landscaping company and Luna theme park company employees held another protest over their late September paychecks.
Skopje, 27 October 2025 (MIA) — SUTKOZ Hospitality, Tourism, Housing and Utility, Crafts and Protective Associations Workers Union leader Stojanche Kashikovski and Parks and Greenery public enterprise's Florakom landscaping company and Luna theme park company employees held another protest over their late September paychecks.
Blocking the intersection in front of the Skopje Zoo on Ilinden Boulevard from 8 to 11 am, protesters said if they did not receive their paychecks Monday, they would block both entrances to the state-owned Parks and Greenery enterprise from 7 to 9 am Tuesday.
According to Kashikovski, the employees decided to hold a public protest by blocking traffic to express their revolt after they were denied a meeting with the Parks and Greenery director.
"Besides not getting their September paychecks, employees have not yet gotten their annual leave allowance, also known as the K-15, or any anniversary awards, or severance pay for those who are retiring," Kashikovski told MIA.
In addition to organizing protests, the union has filed complaints with the State Labor Inspectorate. Criminal charges have also been filed against the Parks and Greenery director for not paying workers and not honoring their collective agreement, Kashikovski said.
"We heard an announcement we would be paid Friday, but we were not," the union leader said.
"If they don't give us our September salary today either, the employees will continue to express their revolt by protesting," he said, adding that the company management has not reached out to them so far. mr/
