Kasami: Divisions within VLEN won’t destabilize Government

Tetovo, 17 April 2025 (MIA) - The leader of the BESA Movement, Bilall Kasami told journalists Thursday he believes there won't be a crisis within the ruling coalition following the decision by Arben Taravari’s bloc of the Alliance for Albanians (AA) to run alone at the local elections, while also stressing that VLEN will not cooperate with Taravari’s AA at the elections.

“That chapter is closed, and as the VLEN coalition, we decided to run together with shared candidates for mayors and council members. In terms of a potential government crisis, there is no possibility for that to happen. The Government has a stable majority. Taravari himself said he is not prepared to leave the ruling coalition,” Bilall Kasami said.

Kasami said the ruling majority could even increase.

“There are already offers and requests for discussions with other political factors within the opposition who are ready to become a part of the ruling majority, so I believe this situation won’t destabilize the Government. On the contrary, the ruling majority will be even larger,” Kasami told journalists.
