July industrial production up 3.8% annually: statistics

Skopje, 30 August 2024 (MIA) - Industrial production in July 2024 rose by 3.8% compared to July 2023, while in the January – July period of 2024 it dropped by 3.9% compared to the same period in 2023, said the State Statistical Office on Friday.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in July 2024, in comparison with July 2023, increased by 14.9%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 3.8%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 1.1%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of food products, Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of paper and paper products, Printing and reproduction of recorded media, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and Manufacture of furniture.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in July 2024, in comparison with July 2023, was higher in Energy by 2.8%, Intermediate goods, except energy by 3.4%, Durable consumer goods by 33.2% and Non-durable consumer goods by 24.0%, while lower in Capital goods by 20.1%.
