Skopje, 7 August 2024 (MIA) - Consumer Price Index this July, compared to July 2023, records an increase by 3.0% and retail prices are up by 3.9%, said the State Statistical Office on Wednesday.

Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in July 2024, compared to June 2024 was 0.7%.The Retail Price Index in July 2024 compared to June 2024 was 1.5%.

The increase of inflation in July 2024, compared to June 2024, is the result of the increase in the consumer prices in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels by 5.8%, Transport by 4.9%, Recreation and culture by 1.2%, Health, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.6%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.3%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 0.1%.

In July 2024, compared to June 2024, a decrease in Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Clothing and footwear by 0.5%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%, Communications by 0.1%.

The Consumer Price Index in the groups: Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month, said the State Statistical Office.
