'John Vardar vs the Galaxy' to be shown at Montevideo film festival

Skopje, 7 July 2025 (MIA) — The first Macedonian full-length animated feature, "John Vardar vs the Galaxy" (2024), has made the official selection of the 11th Montevideo World Film Festival, which runs July 7-9 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Uruguay is the fifth country in Latin America the film has been shown in, after Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Venezuela.

The sci-fi comedy tells the story of an antihero through sharp humor and various animation styles, according to the film's director Goce Cvetanovski.
The film is a Macedonian-Hungarian-Bulgarian-Croatian co-production.
The art director is Mihajlo The Micho Dimitrievski and the animation director is Dimitar Gjorgiev. The cast includes Zharko Dimoski as John Vardar, Emilija Micevska as Lili and Damjan Cvetanovski as Zark. mr/
