Skopje, 30 April 2022 (MIA) — Macedonian Association of Jazz Musicians and Free Artists is holding its 6th Today It’s All About Jazz all-day festival at Skopje's Ibni Pajko Park. According to festival organizers, North Macedonia is joining 180 countries celebrating International Jazz Day, which UNESCO officially designated in 2011 to emphasize the importance of jazz as a means of achieving unity and peace through dialogue and diplomacy. UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock announced that the flagship Jazz Day event of the 2022 celebration will be an All-Star Global Concert staged in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York. The Skopje concert will feature performances by Djole Grujovski - Resonance, John Ilija Apelgren & Gordan Spasovski, SS Project, Off Ground Ensemble, Sasho Popovski, CuckooRack aka Bopers, and Toni Kitanovski. “Music has the power to unite us all, gathering us on International Jazz Day to enjoy jazz and celebrate its principles and freedom of expression,” organizers say. mr/
