Ivanovski and Jeruto win 2025 WizzAir Skopje Marathon
- Macedonian runner Dario Ivanovski in men’s competition and Irene Jeruto (Kenya) in women’s competition won the 21st WizzAir Skopje Marathon on Sunday.
Skopje, 5 October 2025 (MIA) – Macedonian runner Dario Ivanovski in men’s competition and Irene Jeruto (Kenya) in women’s competition won the 21st WizzAir Skopje Marathon on Sunday.
Ivanovski completed the 42-km marathon in 2:14:50 after outrunning Kenya’s Julius Kipkoech in the final two kilometres of the race, who then finished second being only 30 second behind the winner. Daviti Kharazishvili from Georgia finished the race third after 2:19:59.
This is Ivanovski’s second victory at the WizzAir Skopje Marathon after winning in 2021.
In women’s competition, Jeruto won running in 2:38:31. Marinela Nineva (Bulgaria) and Anna Yusupova (Azerbaijan) finished second and third respectively.
A record-breaking number of runners, 14,010, from 58 countries, took part in this year’s WizzAir Skopje Marathon.
Albion Imeri in men's competition and Gresa Bakrachi in women's competition won the half-marathon race. Also, Grigorian Nikovski and Irma Hajdari won the 5-km race, which saw about 10,000 runners participating.

The "Vranje Marathoners" team (2:26:34) won the relay marathon – EU for Sport.
The Ministry of Sports was the main patron of the annual Wizz Air Skopje Marathon this year.
